Shottons is renowned for top quality furniture and is proud to serve Hartlepool and the North East. We are a long established furniture store with over 60 years of experience covering three generations of the Shotton family.
Shottons has become a reputable name amongst the furniture trade and are stockists of some of the most respected companies in the UK and around the world. Brands including LaZboy, Celebrity, Rest Assured and Sealy.
Frank and May Shotton started business in Belk street, Hartlepool selling electrical goods. As many old customers still remember their electrical adventure, this helped towards establishing their name today. In 1962, they diverted into selling furniture and carpets. F. Shotton Ltd went from strength to strength.
The late 70’s and early 80’s saw four sons branch out, starting up their own businesses. This left the youngest son Clive. Due to hard work and commitment the furniture business expanded in the 90’s. This consisted of opening a Bedroom Centre and Warehouse on York road/Houghton street, and extending the Belk street main shop along Raby road. Shottons became the largest furniture business in Hartlepool.
In 2007, the main showroom needed to relocate as parking in Belk street became restricted. Therefore, the York road bedroom centre was demolished and a new purpose built 20,000 sq-ft showroom took its place with free customer parking available via Houghton street. With the extended floor space, Shottons boasts one of the largest selections of furniture in the North-East.
Most recently in 2022, Shottons celebrated 60 years in the furniture business.
